GreeneKing Posted November 8, 2019 Posted November 8, 2019 (edited) I'm starting this thread for Phil who I met today. I believe that selling me his 88 Thumb NT was the start of his bass selling BC career. Lovely guy, very genuine. The bass? Well Warwick Thumbs of this vintage aren't manufactured. They are grown from a single crystal in a dark cave, nurtured by wee dwarves who finish them using a tiny adze. It is amazing. Heavy as iron (not steel, but wrought iron), growls like a complete bastard, has a neck as long as the Millau Viaduct and a Wenge fretboard as black as a burnt bone in the above mentioned dark cave, deep in the sea, on the night of a lunar eclipse. Totally and tonally awesome. Thank you Phil, a pleasure. The bass is even nicer than the photos. Note to self, it's hard to photograph a wax finished bass using a flash.
