Keep it black. Drop it to BEAD and stick it through a Boss HM-2!

I wouldn't change the finish or tinker too much, keep it period correct, "warts" and all. But BEAD and 80s distortions are surely a must for this bass??!

Hahaha. Only one Yamaha these days. Can’t believe you’re selling it’s brother.

I'll probably live to regret it...never thought I'd ever say this but "the pick ups were too hot"....

Just put the new schaller BMF’s on.

not happy with the pickup screws I’ve bought to replace the other ones I wasn’t happy with.

but, the headstock chips are disappearing.

Still waiting on the bridge for this...been 3 weeks. Not best pleased that I’ve had stuff from China and Germany for this, but a bridge from the south of England hasn’t made it.

Also doesn’t help that as I’ve ramped up questions/asked for a refund...seller has gone quiet.

Anyhow, will move on with the rest and see what I can find to replace the idea of the replacement.

Replaced the neck plate with a black gotoh, replaced the bridge with a black gotoh.

So. I need to find some decent pickup screws.

And I want to check over the jack socket as it’s a barrel unit and it’s a bit on/off.

I’ve taken out the battery box which will be stripped and resprayed.

then it’s “finished”

So I then decide what I’m doing with it.

Gold sparkle!

Haven’t got the money for a sparkle paint job. Although two considered options

Gun Metal Sparkle

British Racing Green Sparkle.

Like the Music Man charcoal sparkle?

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. But a decent pro job is about £400 for a flake paint job.

Yeah. Most likely.

I basically got this a bit cheaper than what they go for as it’s not pristine.

But as I’ve bought bits it’s probably just as well I don’t spend £300 on a paint job as I’d end up about £200 down if I sold it after.

it currently owes me about as much as a rough one would go for.

see how I feel when I’ve done the battery box.

one of these popped up locally,

Question:  What makes it a "Jazz" bass?

Looks like a Precision body to me?

I don't mind Jazz necks, just the offset body sucks.

HSC and a little beat up £375.

Jesus that’s cheap - get it bought. These go for £500-£600 depending on the wind...
