What are you Guys using to secure a replacement bone nut on a US Fender Jazz bass? In the process of sprucing up a Fender Jazz with a new loom, Fender Hi Mass bridge, new bone nut, new strings and I was wondering what was best to secure the nut. The existing one came off very easily so wanted something a little more robust.

I've sucessfully used just a couple of small dots of superglue to hold a new nut in place - its strong enough to keep the nut in place when you want it to hold, but giving it a clout from the side is enough to break the bond without causing any damage to the fingerboard or nut when you do want to remove it.

......or use Titebond (used for luthier work) just a smear along the nut underside will hold it in place and make it relatively easy to tap it out in future. Any decent wood glue should do the trick.....
