EJWW Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 The jack socket on my Yamaha TRB is sunk too deep in the body side which means that I am unable to fully plug in my Boss WL50 wireless transmitter. Is there any quick fix I could use to get around this problem? I know that I could get a techie to move the socket closer to the surface but I've only just got it back from the repair shop and I could do without another trip so soon. I was thinking perhaps I could plug something into the socket which would stick out and thereby present me with another socket into which I could plug the transmitter? Amy suggestions appreciated greatly! Best wishes. Quote
jrixn1 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 Something like this? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Neutrik-Guitar-Extension-Cable-Lead-6-35mm-1-4-Mono-Jack-Plug-to-Socket-PRO-/281837527938 Quote
redbandit599 Posted November 12, 2019 Posted November 12, 2019 I have a similar issue with the socket on my Dingwall, I have a right angle cable that connects to my Shure wireless (it's a special cable) - it fits ok but if the cable swivels a couple of screws that are around the socket push the cable out a bit. Bloody PITA it is! Quote
kingforaday Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Got any pics of it? Just guess work without seeing it but if there’s not much in it, would adding a washer or 2 (or spacer of some kind) between body and socket give the clearance you need? Quote
AngelDeVille Posted November 13, 2019 Posted November 13, 2019 Would a Gretsch or Les Paul jack plate fit? I’m not familiar with Yamahas. Quote
EJWW Posted November 13, 2019 Author Posted November 13, 2019 Many thanks for the replies so far, I will add pics later today to clarify the problem. Regards Ted Quote
EJWW Posted November 13, 2019 Author Posted November 13, 2019 (edited) It's about 2cm deep. Edited November 13, 2019 by EJWW Quote
