This looks to be the same model as my uBass - solid mahogany with the RoadToad inlay, lovely tortoishell binding and really nice sounding shadow electronics. Mine originally came with black Pahoehoe strings which was fitted as standard for this model, but only the premium models like this came with the rigid zip-up case - the cheaper ones like the rumbler would have a gigbag.

If I didn't already own my one I would definitely have bought this. GLWTS!

Looks as though the model range has changed since i got this.

All the discontinued models are on their website, too.

I am asking you because, unfortunately, there are a lot of fakes around.

I am sure yours is a genuine Kala. I just wanted to check with you the exact model, that's all.

I am very interested.

The model number should be on the paper label insider the soundhole. If this one is as I suspect the same model as mine, a fretted solid mahogany ubass, it should say SMHG-FS. I believe an -FL suffix would indicate a fretless version.

Looks exactly like mine (also bought from Bass Direct some years ago) so I think you can be happy it’s not fake. Same hard case too.

Would have this off you if it wasn’t collection only - a drive to Bishop’s Stortford would be uneconomical and probably technically not allowed.
