Shaggy Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Only ever seen one other one, recently sold by http://www.theacousticmusicco.co.uk/ - being a mando player I was quite tempted! Dates from when mandolins were hugely popular in the early 20th Century - this would have been part of a mandolin orchestra with mandolin, mandola, mandocello and mandobass. Quote
yorks5stringer Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 I'd love it but imagine trying to get a case to fit? Quote
Dan Dare Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 Wow. Exceedingly rare. I'm a mandolin player, too. Used to have the mandolin equivalent of it (1920s A model). Horror story from some years back. Andy's in Denmark Street had a Gibson mandocello from the 1920s in the window. It looked gorgeous from the front, but the back had been stove in (heaven knows how) and badly. They were selling it on commission. Don't know what happened to it. Quote
Stub Mandrel Posted November 23, 2019 Posted November 23, 2019 stinky poo. I'm in a lifetime unique position of being able to afford that and always having wanted one. MUST.... RESIST... Quote
