wateroftyne Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Hi all I'm hauling my backside about as far as I can haul it on Saturday... all the way to Portsmouth. We're doing the 'Live at the Bandstand' thing in Southsea - it's a free gig and we're on at 4pm... apparently. If you show up, say hello...! Tengu Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Unfortunately I also have a gig that day so I won't be able to come along. I have played at the Bandstand though so a word of warning. It is right on the sea front and very exposed so loads of sunscreen and hats are in order. As long as the weather is as good as the forecast says you should get a good crowd. Hope you enjoy it. Quote
wateroftyne Posted August 2, 2007 Author Posted August 2, 2007 Cheers, Tengu. I'll bear it in mind!. Are there any decent guitar shops to keep an eye out for? And... can you recommend anywhere to grab a bite to eat in the afternoon? Thanks! Quote
bass_ferret Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Thats a long long way! Nevada used to be the music shop but I dont know where to eat - been a long time since I went to Pompey. Quote

PJs is slightly closer to the front but Nevada is certainly the biggest and has a good reputation around the South. Head west from the bandstand until you get to the arcades/fun fair (poor excuse for one) and then head north. There are plenty of places to eat all along the front but you will find a nice little bistro just up that road a way. Green fronted place, old timber floors. Very quaint and with good food. Quote
