lee650
mate you change your gear like your knickers i suspect you have your eye on a certain ul 502 on here then, i do too!!, gig the EBS then tell me you want an epifani, thats where the sound matters!! massive bump for a lovely bloke with wandering fancies, who will be andrew crouche (prob spelt wrong)one day hope you get your sound mate- lol - lee
6stringbassist
Ari's ul502 is a very good price for a fantastic amp. To my mind there's little comparison between EBS and Epifani, they're worlds apart soundwise. EBS is very bright, Epifani is clean and warm and bright in a different way, there's clarity there in abundance, but it's not like the EBS sound at all. lee650
Yeah kev the EBS is really bright thats why i liked it the td 650 josh owns used to be mine!, im dying to try the ul502 though i really think it,ll be my sound, and two channels is great so i can switch between EUB and EB , i totally understand why josh wants one ( sorry to highjack the thread josh ) Lee Ari's ul502 is a very good price for a fantastic amp. 6stringbassist
You'll find the 2 channels are really useful, I have one set up for my acoustic with just a tiny amount of gain and the tone set to boost the bass and cut the top end, and the other channel set for my electric. It's a pity you can only set the mid cut on the one channel though.

As much as I love the Hi-Fi sizzle from my EBS, it lacks the warmth I hear in Epifanis. Edited January 16, 2009 by Josh

Josh
Bump. Also, I would consider an Ampeg SVT 4-Pro head trade for the TD650. Edited January 18, 2009 by Josh

bass_ferret
Not tried epifani but did think about it when I changed my rig. Yes the EBS is bright - thats why I always had the "Bright" knob turned all the way down
6stringbassist
Tell you something else I've noticed with the Epifani stuff, you don't get the humming normally associated with single coils on my P bass or my jazz, maybe it's because they don't have transformers or something ?. Remember Lee it's common on all of Eden's stuff, they admit it themselves. Edited March 8, 2009 by Josh
