JakeBrownBass Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Was looking on the lowend website at basses for sale! Well anyway, came across this ritter from NAMM. Seriously, this finish blows me away! What are your views?? I know its not gonna be everyones cup of tea, but seriously, WOW! Jake Quote

GreeneKing Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I'd go for one or the other but not both together. The bottom preferably. Quote

misrule Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I like Ritters -- but that's too busy for me. I'd prefer it if they did the whole body in the yellow and blue from the lower half. How much is it? (doesn't matter -- I can't afford it ) Cheers Mark Quote
MB1 Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) MB1. Very Nice colour! Bit of Overkill on the Neck Screws!...10?...must be prone to wandering? Having just looked back at the bass it does now look like 2 totally different finishes! Edited January 15, 2009 by MB1 Quote

The Burpster Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 It looks like the kinda thing that hangs on the walls of places that George Micheal was famous for hanging around when talking to nice Policemen....... Quote
lemmywinks Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 A bit OTT for me i think. Much prefer a nice plain finish... must be getting old! Quote

Dubs Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 The grain on the back of the neck looks amazing. The rest of it is...erm...interesting... Quote
warwickhunt Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 An acquired taste, I thought it was a fancy abstract paint finish. If it were in amberburst or similar I'd probably be dribbling on the keyboard Quote
Hamster Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 Finishes like that usually leave me a bit cold - but that is really stunning  Quote
Kiwi Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 I think that finish is achieved by spraying a stain over the wood and sanding it back. Jens has a real eye for dramatic impact though. Quote
rjb Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) Awesome. OTT of course, but then it's meant to be. It's not designed to be played, it's designed to get Ritter more attention! Edited January 15, 2009 by rjb Quote

Buzz Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 (edited) OH GOD, MY EYES!!! That's a bit frantic and trippy. Also, was there any need to post it in here AND in bass guitars? photographymatt Posted January 15, 2009 Posted January 15, 2009 christ...thats gorgous. the long horn is abit too prince for me, but its custom so id have that sorted;-) why 2 9v batterys? pickups and eq? some(all?) of the ibanez SR basses are passive pickups/active EQ so thats why I say that. Not sure whether its for more headroom on the pre-amp boost & cut, or active eq & pickups. -Jake Quote
