ead
It did have the veneer but it was really 'average' possibly as it was to be painted over. We did think the blocks were mahogany bu it was a best guess really. On the upside doing this did lighten the weight of the bass somewhat heresy or not. No idea what I was thinking with blocks and stack knobs though.
Blind Lemon
@bassassin thanks for the link. Didn't really anticipate finding a scratch plate but you never know.

SnowEagle
A late joiner to this thread, looking for details on my Antoria Jazz bass purchased in Knowle, West Midlands, last year. £50, no argument. Plus a Vox 10 Bass amp in another Charity shop for £20 a month or so later. But nice to see a Black Eagle. I recall several years ago someone was selling replica Black Eagle pickguards. but can no longer find the link. But here's one to drool over... not all Black Eagles were black. I know of at least three (plus one refinished in white by Jon Camp of Renaissance)
Waddo Soqable
A cracking bargain you got there!.. I remember these when they were in the shops new. Someone was trying to flog a black one for 1400 quid recently as I recall 🤣
Bassassin
Crazy bargain. Antoria White Eagles are rarer than the already ridiculously rare Ibanez Black Eagle. UK market only and probably only produced in the hundreds. Has it had a head repair? It's incredibly uncommon to see any of this design with an undamaged headstock. We had one here a couple of years ago: What details/info are you looking for? Should be dateable from the neckplate serial (1st letter = month, next 2 digits = year), manufactured by Fujigen Gakki, distributed in the UK by JT Coppock Ltd in Leeds, who owned the Antoria brand at the time. Fwiw I'd happily give you twice what you paid for it...
SnowEagle
The White Eagle cost me £550 (D762648), I was the purchaser on ebay! The one I picked up for £50 was an Antoria 2376 (1773975), from your explanation of serial numbers dated to January 1977. A few dings, but nothing that detracts from it (one on front, one on back plus buckle rash). Both with MIJ serial number plates. Yes, the Eagle has had a (very good) head repair. Both seriously heavy, but then I also have a Gibson Les Paul Studio! 3 inch guitar straps help. Quite a shock, as the first guitar I bought (new, as a student in 1974 for £30) was an Antoria 330/Casino copy! The LP was bought in 2007, the basses in 2017 and 2022. Blind Lemon
Nice...I understand the White Eagle was only avaliable as Antoria not Ibanez. My 1st bass, easier to count in decade's as to how log ago, was an Antoria Jazz (no serial number so pre 74 I think) and was set up by some bloke called John Diggins. No idea who he was back then or what a nice bass it was. Gigged it for years, still plays beautifully.
