EBS_freak Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 (edited) I was just checking out the Vigier thread where @ped posted his Vigier. I've come to know that bass pretty well due to my mispent hours on basschat... but then it got me thinking... what are the basschat iconic basses... the ones that people instantly know who's it is as soon as people post a picture? Aka, "your bass has been nicked? - that wouldn't last long in a pawn shop without being reported to the owner" thread. Edited December 10, 2019 by EBS_freak 1 Quote
BigRedX Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 Probably these: Although having said that the fretless 4-string is currently for sale so may not be mine for much longer. 6 Quote
ped Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 @obbm’s blue Stingray five with graphite neck always struck me as a famous BC bass. I think it still belongs to a basschatter. Quote
AndyTravis Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 I’ve never been asked to sell a bass to as many people as this... 3 Quote

It’s nice to think that if it ever got stolen the thief would be hounded for the rest of his life by a nationwide clan of sweaty hefty bass players 👍🏼 He’d end up sealed inside some old Trace cabinet in some damp rehearsal room. Probably. 3 3 Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 I'll go with the mighty Fender Precision because it belongs to most of us! 😺 Quote
TheGreek Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 (edited) Without blowing their trumpets for them (oooer Matron) but many of @Andyjr1515 and @Jabba_the_gut builds are instantly recognisable as their creations. I would say that both of my @Andyjr1515 creations (The Psilos and The Silk Bass) are known as mine along with my "Green Machine" Overwater. In fact, the ACG Harlot SC, now with Frank Blank, is equally well known though it has been own by several BCers. Edited December 10, 2019 by TheGreek 3 Quote
Twigman Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 I'd like to think my Black Sterling 4HH with matching headstock and green scratchplate would be instantly recognisable as mine. I looked for ages for a black 4HH with a matching headstock. There seem to be very few in UK. 1 Quote

Frank Blank Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 As @TheGreek kindly mentioned it and as it does seem to be a bass that lots of BCers recognise and admire I’ll concede I may now be the lucky owner of a notable bass although I wouldn’t go so far as to call it iconic. 2 Quote
Silvia Bluejay Posted December 10, 2019 Posted December 10, 2019 @Happy Jack has a few weird ones, but I'd say this is the most notable... 😎 15 2 Quote

I remember playing it when there was that bash somewhere under a bridge in Surrey I seem to remember. I had an OLP ray with status neck at the time and really liked your bass. You had it for a while didn’t you? 1 Quote
