Hi All,

This may not be porn to those who don't like stingrays, but this does it for me. Just arrived today and thought i'd share it.

I Have a bit of a thing for Musicman basses, so i'll post some more on the Musicman porn thread, but thought this deserved its own.

Maybe in my head, but it seems a bit more focused in the bottom end, and a bit more sparkly in the top end. I have a 20th Anniversary and I felt the same about that.... probobly just the expectation against cost?

Know what you mean with the HH , no control plate, which looks stunning, but IMHO a Stingray only needs one pickup,...... each to thier own.

Yeh, works for me most definitely, though I must admit I'd prefer a contoured top. But then, you do have that lovely binding too.
I've also always preferred the look of the single pup Musicman basses.

Is it mahogany bodied?[/quote]

Ash body, mahogany tone block, 1000 year old redwood top, mohogany (gloss) neck (my first on an MM bass), and a real nice rosewood board.

Painted black back, behind the cream binding.... looks real nice.... stroke of genius, would have been very easy to ruin the top with a competing
back...

Very nice, i love musicman fretboards, they always use gorgeous woods. The fretboard on my SUB bass has a really really nice grain on it, but the one on the similar priced fender i had had hardly any grain at all. Top notch stuff ;)
