I recently asked a question about something like this - would a small strat body with a bass neck work??

Ask the seller if he has the leftover bass neck and strat body going spare!

That is a Fender Precision Lyte, in essence.

This bass has the handle of a kitchen drawer screwed trough the body in lieu of a thumbrest.

I'll say that again: A kitchen drawer handle. Screwed through the body.

MDP's got competition.

Disagree, think it looks OK and there are no wild or fanciful claims being made for it either.....

At last a genuine reason for splaying the tuners, there's no other way they would fit!

Maybe they should've used different tuners for that headstock...

Is that B string actually under tension in the photo? It looks very banana shaped. Starts too high at the bridge then comes back across the fretboard and does a nice little curve before it goes through the nut. Would love to know how much dive that has with all that junk on the end of a tiny neck.

Firewood at best.

Less neck dive than if it were a full-scale bass neck...

Cool little thing, although insanely overpriced.

But this ad does bring to mind something that's baffled me for years - why (oh why oh why) do people cover up the serial numbers on instruments they're selling? What possible point is there in doing this?
