If anyone owns the Squier and Fender derivative of the same bass (ie Jazz or Precision) can you answer a quick question for me?

Are the headstocks the same size and shape? I was having a look online today and the Squiers look a little different. It's been bothering me....it's been a quiet day at work.

I just looked the pictures of Dood's imported Japan Fender P and compared it with my Squier, and the headstocks are definately different. The size looks about the same, but the shape is different.

I'm a credit manager by day...first day or two of the month is a bit busy, but I decided to spend most of today drinking coffee and trawling the information superhighway (blimey, remember when it was called that all those years ago?).

At weekends I turn into Norm Abraham, renovating my damn house; which, after the carpet laying is finished this coming Monday, will be job done- five years and about £100K spent.

I just had a look at my 73 P bass and Squier silver series, and though the size is about the same the radiusing is slightly different - most noticeable on the curve just below the 'ball' at the top of the headstock. On the squier the corner by the logo and the heel on the tuner side are both slightly sharper. Nothing that immediately leaps out at you though.

I've got a new Geddy Lee MIJ jazz & used to have a Squier VMJ maple. The only difference in straight looks is that the headstock on the Squier jazzes is a bit shorter and fatter. Looks almost a little mishapen. You have to really look at it to spot it, though.
