Can of worms time, I thought it was Jerry Jemmott.

I'm pretty sure it's Ron - Wikipedia says so as well, but both Wikipedia and my memory are not flawless so I'm prepared to be corrected....

Fortunate Sun, Creedence Clearwater revival.

In fact, everything CCR did was blummen brilliant.

Ditto Tramp the Dirt Down. The object may be dead, but the subject remains

And who can forget the classic antipodean anti war anthem?

You mean it's not about his plans for the weekend? 🤐

Honestly, I hate that I love that tune.

Here's few that jumped into my head:

What's Going On?  (Surely one of the best)

Zombie (not sure if this is actually a protest song or just a strong lyric)

Sunday Bloody Sunday

Two Tribes

Glad To Be Gay

Lots of Jazz protest material which, because it has no lyrics, works on a different level. This one references the Killing of young children following the racist bombing of an Alabama Church by White Supremacists.

Anybody mention "War Pigs"??

What about "War" by Edwin Starr??? There is also the lesser known sequel "Stop the War".

This one still works for me, what doesn't work for me is that the generation that wrote and lived this originally are now the ones in power...wrote great protest songs...yes......learnt anything from them....sadly no!
