bornagainbass65 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 This turned up on my timeline. If we can sell six inches of old bass string for £22 then I reckon a few of us are sitting on a gold mine... Merry Christmas, everyone! 2 2 Quote
tony_m Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 My Other Half's quite "crafty" (in the nicest possible sense), I'll see if she can knock up a few of these! Ker-ching... 🤑 Quote
Cat Burrito Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 My wife bought me one for Christmas a few years back. I always wear it and like it. Obviously if people can cut costs by doing it themselves, great. Quote
oldslapper Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 That’s a fantastic idea. Might give some to my daughter to do. Thanks for posting. Quote
Al Krow Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Great idea. Tell you what, if any of us starts doing this seriously / commercially and turns into a money spinner, that would be fantastic. I'd be more than happy to send my old bass strings for recycling to anyone doing that, rather than throwing them away. 1 Quote
yorks5stringer Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Do you think they do one in Flatwounds...? 2 Quote

Lfalex v1.1 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 I'd need Elixirs or they'd start corroding! 😂 Quote
TheGreek Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Expect them to pull the hairs out of your arm..ouch!! 1 Quote
stewblack Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Anyone know if boiling them makes the bracelet last longer? 1 3 Quote
Bass Fumbler Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 The amount of gunk that comes off mine when I change my strings, I think I'll give this a miss! Quote
SH73 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 Flats or tape wound, they are smooth for skin. Nickel gives me rash so needs to be steel. Quote
phil.c60 Posted December 14, 2019 Posted December 14, 2019 A mate of mine's band have their old guitar strings made into bracelets which they sell at their merch stand. They sell very well, apparently, and are even tagged with which gig they are from. They've been doing it for a long time. They are very nicely made in an arty fashion, which helps. 1 Quote

dave moffat Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 Showed it to the missus, can't print the reply, so it's back to the usual Debenhams voucher. Do think they look kind cool but a thicker version would be nicer maybe a nickel and a bronze in a twist Quote
AngelDeVille Posted December 17, 2019 Posted December 17, 2019 I wonder how much the Pyramids are? Quote
