Yes, he would have been with them a couple of years ago-he's been their bass player since they formed in 1974 . Quote
BASSISACE Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Hello all, my 1st posting on Basschat. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Shuker JJB1 last week, 8 months waiting list. It's incredible, everything that his 70s Precision should have been, lighter with extra wound pick-ups for more growl. 1 thing I should mention is that JJ must have hands like shuvels, it's a seriously wide neck. Another work of genious from Jon Shuker, it's a seriously well made bass. Quote
Deep Thought Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Welcome-you lucky bugger! I'm fairly happy with my Fenders, but a Shuker JJ is one of the few I still lust after. Did you have any of your own mods, or is it fairly standard? You should know that it's a forum rule that pictures must be posted! Quote

The Dark Lord Posted April 19, 2012 Posted April 19, 2012
I know the Stranglers jumped on the punk bandwagon cos the first time I saw them was supporting AC/DC about 1975.
You don't know that. You just think it. Quote

Rick's Fine '52 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 I think they (Stranglers) have some very recognisable tracks, and lines, that define a sound of the era, along with the Jam, Skids etc, but I don't rate them myself, he wouldn't be in my top 30 bass players. But its all a matter of taste........and many of you clearly don't have any!! Taxi!! Quote
Rick's Fine '52 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Don't Fender already do a JJB Signature Precision, but they called it the Roger Waters model, apart from the 50's vs 70's decal, isn't it the same? Black guard, black body, maple neck? Quote
