This. I like the concept of anti-commercialism, and love the Prokofiev excerpt.

Yup, I like this one too.

In pop terms.....

.......though have to admit I'm a sucker for a good carol...

For listening pleasure - either or both of these, spot on Mr. Shaggy.

My favourite Xmas tunes that I've played, though are Brooooooooooooooooooooce's version of Santa Claus Is Coming To Town....

and of recent years, this one has rather surprisingly joined it:

Surprising because I'm not awfully fond of Louis Armstrong, but it's a good fun to play and swings like a pendulum if you get it right...

Worst has to be the Noel Gallagher cover of Slade's Merry Christmas Everybody, utterly awful heard in Tescos  couple of days ago which is depressing enough without that abortion being piped through the store.

this is brutal, could have been a normal Dio track - Awesome!

God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen, not whatever song the picture is showing!

I'm also enjoying the Bela Fleck and the flecktones album..

Great singer, great song

Honourable mention for a slice of golden-era Tull......

My two guilty secrets, oh come on, it's Christmas!

Not with you on the Chris De Burgh one, but the Leona Lewis is ace!

I really like the Chris De Burgh song.

Not a problem Dave - think it's his voice I can't get past TBH, but hey, each to their own!

Merry Christmas,

Pete.

Wasn't a criticism there @casapete. CDB was a bit of an acquired taste back in his earlier days and i can understand why people can't take to his voice.:D

You are missing something.

Ignore the picture, the link is to Dio sing God Rest Ye Merry Gentleman.

Which is definitely a Christmas song.

My favourite..... just beautiful..... but it needs to be longer... and with a properly emotive guitar solo on the end!

Also love this.....

Best Christmas bassline has to be this....

Always had a soft nostalgic spot for this one....

....and this one... because, well, it's the lovely Kate :)
