yorks5stringer Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 Interesting for G.E.Smith soloing dressed as a woman. Quote
Graham Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 No-one else has said it, so this one's my favourite, perfect Christmas song and so much musical content I also really like this cover, Turner really evokes the spirit of the lyrics Quote

Which is definitely a Christmas song. You mean this. I didn't get this last post. I had Highway Star and War Pigs when i watched it. Not heard Dio doing this and i'm a bit of a Dio fan too. Liking it @mcdaddy Dave 1 Quote
Newfoundfreedom Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 F@#k Christmas! It's not a song (at least not yet, maybe I'll write it tomorrow) Worst time of year. I can't wait to see the back of it! Quote

LeftyP Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 My wife is a big Barry Manilow Fan - I have offered to pay for therapy. I like the songs of Joni Mitchell. Put the two together and add some festive tinsel and you get this; 2 1 Quote
TrevorR Posted December 18, 2019 Posted December 18, 2019 @Graham’s Mariah recommendation reminded me of this one we used to do quite often in our Christmas service. Great fun to play on bass, especially when it goes full on gospel after the false ending. We would often have the singer, Miquel Brown, guesting with us - she’s got an amazing gospel voice. That was a lot of fun! 2 Quote
stewblack Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 Absolutely no doubt about the best Christmas song ever but I also love Christmas At The Zoo (Flamin Lips) and Christmas Card From A Hooker In Mineappolis (Tom Waits) 1 Quote
LeftyP Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 I thought I had posted this before but it has not appeared. The lyrics were written by stand-up comedian Mark Lowry with music by Buddy Greene. It gets me every time. 2 Quote
dmccombe7 Posted December 19, 2019 Author Posted December 19, 2019 Amazing the number of Xmas songs we've had over the years. Some real crackers i've never heard too. Dave Quote

MrCrane Posted December 19, 2019 Posted December 19, 2019 This one gets my vote purely for Dee Murray's bass line. https://www.notreble.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/12/Bass-Transcription-Step-Into-Christmas.pdf 2 Quote
