Just following on from the Frusciante Rejoins RHCP thread but thought my question for the BC Chili heads would be better off in a separate thread.

It's kinda surprised me how many people have said they really liked Stadium Arcadium. I bought it at the time, listened through a couple of times and never felt compelled to go back. I think Ready Made stood out though.

Most people agree it's way too long with filler though and "if it was half as long it would have been one of their best"

Soo, if you could cut half the album away what tracks would you keep? I wonder if people would mostly agree or would it be a different edit for everyone?

Exactly that! And throw in Brandi from the live in Hyde park album.

That’s a cover song though...not sure I’d sanction that 😂

Tell Me Baby

Hump De Bump

C'Mon Girl

That's it for me, possibly Storm in a Teacup too. Has about the same amount of decent songs as By The Way but somehow spread out over a double album. This was around the time Keidis really started to grate on me, tbh One Hot Minute was the last album of theirs I truly enjoyed all the way through, tons of underrated songs on that whereas I always thought Californication was half filler half killer.

Cheers for that! Funny you didn't mention the only one that I can remember liking 😂

Nice one for Fortune Faded too, I'd forgotten about that song. They did a great live version of that when I saw them in Cardiff. 2004 I think it was..

A Spotify playlist needs to be constructed methinks. 👍

I like Californication miles more than One Hot Minute. In fact the only album of theirs I like as much is BSSM. I prefer Stadium Arcadium to Mother’s Milk, and definitely to One Hot Minute, although I do like that.

I’m going to bed. I shall construct it when I’m not tired

They love a good cover version, the first five albums all had covers on them.

Was on the Pretty Woman soundtrack, also Sikamikanico from the BSSM sessions was on the Wayne’s World Soundtrack.

And Fellas pink torpedo...a recorded jam thing from BSSM

Rules schmules. Choonz iz choonz n'at init..

Was it SA that John was heavily into Brandy? Not the alcoholic beverage by the way. Or was it By The Way?

If you catch my drift..

Yes I only heard this a couple of years ago! Always did wonder what happened to it after seeing them writing it on Funky Monks.

I can understand why it wasn't on BSSM as it sounds more like a Mother's Milk track to me.

Pretty darn classic all the same!

On the subject of non album tracks, one of my favourite tracks they've ever recorded is Soul To Squeeze, I've no idea why they didn't include it on BSSM. It's just got such a beautiful laid back feel.

One of my favourites - was included on greatest hits, released when JF left the first time. Has a brief glimpse in the video of an interim guitarist who joined the band before Dave Navarro.

I love this track, first riff and verse - don’t feel the chorus works at all. Just listened to it in the car.

Stadium Arcadia grew on me.  Hated it the first time I listened through, mainly because of Anthony Kiedis' vocals. Came back to it a few years later and enjoyed it more (mainly for frusciante's playing) though completely agree only about half the tracks appeal to me.  I dumped them into my RHCP play list

Stadium Arcadium is probably my least favourite Chili Peppers record. Never understood the love it gets from some.

First Chilis track I ever heard. My girlfriend at the time loved Pretty Woman and played the soundtrack all the time.
