tvickey
Warwick just finished building my custom Streamer LX4... Flat black body, Ebony fretboard, Ebony keys, black hardware, brushed-metal MEC pick-ups, brass nut and bronze frets. What do you think?

This is my favourite Warwick shape. For years I wanted a Streamer Stage II. Never did get one!

Yeah, these are teaser photos sent to me from the intermediary. Bass is still making it's way to me from Germany now... I asked them to send me a few photos. tvickey
Oh, and can't see from these photos but the Ebony fretboard is paired with a Wenge neck (number of laminations = n-1, so for LX4 this is 3).
tvickey
Alright, I discovered that there are more photos on the Warwick Customshop website...
bartelby
That's pretty bloody lovely. Personally I'd have gone with just black pickups, for the full stealth look, but that's just me... and it's not my bass 😁

I literally said, "Tell those Germans, 'Alles schwarz. Sehr, sehr schwarz!'" and somehow the brushed metal ones snuck into the spec sheet. In retrospect, I think that was for the best... it looks really sharp like this. I'm very pleased.

I can see why you'd be pleased.
Skybone
Won't bronze frets wear really quickly?

I have an old Warwick Chrome Tone LX5 (2004) with bronze frets, which has been very well played, and they are still in great shape. It's a special bronze alloy... supposedly longer life than nickel ones: http://www.warwick.de/en/Warwick---Company--Our-unique-instruments--Our-necks-and-fretboards--Our-Bell-Bronze-Frets.html#current_site_id Edited December 20, 2019 by tvickey clarification

ead
Very lovely indeed. I presume that the brushed metal pickup covers are there to help you locate the bass were you ever to put it down on a darkened stage?
burno70
I'm rather indifferent to Warwick basses but that's a peach. Love the brushed metal pick up covers! Sweet bass.
Newfoundfreedom
I've never been a fan of black guitars, but that looks great with the satin finish alongside the dark wood of the neck.
BlueMoon
That is indeed a very nice Warwick. I have a 2003 limited edition FNA Jazzman that I regret to say I don't play that much these days. Enjoy your new bass!!
