Recording a Rockabilly EP

In the entirely hypothetical case of a Rockabilly 3-piece wanting to record a 4-song EP of originals next Easter, does The Basschat Massive (whoah ... that dates me a bit, doesn't it?) have any suggestions as to a suitable recording studio easily reached from NW London?

Sorry Jack not local, but Western Star near Bath kinda specialise in the genre. Alan Wilson has a good reputation. 
Probably not helpful, but in case you don’t find anything nearby.

All vintage 50s gear - you can't get much more authentic. Single-track recording can be a bit nerve-wracking, so you've got to be good and tight - or willing to do lots of takes without anyone losing their temper! 😆

I have recorded at Reservoir Studios with Chris Clarke (producer; also bassist for Danny and The Champions of the World and for bluegrass outfit Foghorn Leghorn). Chris plays DB so will be sympathetic to recording. Reservoir is near Finsbury Park so more NE London. If you contact him, please mention Clarky ex All The Queens Ravens recommended him

On my radar right from the start, and would be automatic first choice if Wickford were slightly closer to Harrow!

+1 for Alan Wilson’s Western Star - it’s got to be worth the trip for anything Rockabilly.

Anywhere that the band feels comfortable and the engineer understands what you want without it needing to be spelled out.

Sounds like another excellent choice but, as with Wickford, I fear that distance will kill that one for us.

Personal recommendations are what I was hoping for.

Additionally I've come across https://www.tilehousestudios.com/ which was Mike Oldfield's original studio and is now operated by his son Luke.

Another recommendation for Reservoir / Chris. We cut what became the final Case Hardin album there. I only played upright bass on one track but Chris was easy to work with. Definitely more Americana than Rockabilly but it's all just different shades of the same colour.
