AndyTravis
So Mark Gooday and Dan Lakin have been doing some basses together it seems... they look nice, sort of D.Lakin:Lakland vibes.
AndyTravis
Apparently these are prototypes and a couple of niggles to be sorted before namm. Prices will be in and around Skyline Prices. Think if they do the P in LPB with a matching head, I could be in bother. Obviously a nod to John Entwistle who was big buddies with Ashdown. And a short scale Jazz, as well as 34” and 35” 5 string...
Merton
I’d like a short scale PJ ideally but I suspect Mark won’t go for that too! The shorty J is certainly of interest

itu
Why, oh why do we get just another round of fenders. Sorry to say that I expected something more and novel. Great amps should equal great and original design in basses, too.
AndyTravis
Thing is they tried that with lodestone basses and all the great reviews aside I don’t think they were best sellers.

Surely the Loadstone basses were also Fender copies but with an even more ugly headstock?
ped
All basses are Fender copies 🤠 1

Well...they were sort of fender shaped...and had EMG j pickups...But they had all funky carves and bevels... The headstock could’ve been better. I think the lack of shape to the bottom of it was an error of judgement for sure.

Lozz196
I like the look of the silver & black Jaguar lookalike - would match my Ashdown RM gear nicely.
lemmywinks
Wow Fender knockoffs, that should make them stand out from the crowd!

Waddycall
They look a bit cheap to me. Maybe it’s the pickguard, colours or matching headstocks.

Bassassin
Had a moment of anticipation - just a fleeting moment - and as the mental impulse to click the link was translated into physical action, I thought: They'll just be Fender knockoffs. Well, whoop-de-bleedin' doo.
Doctor J
Yep. That’s a “meh” from me. Shame, as Lakin’s MM + J design was fantastic, now he’s just redesigning the designed. Aside from the unusual string tree position (and I’m just curious wtf they were thinking) there is nothing of interest here for me.
