Its just sublime and Steely Dan always take me by surprise no matter how many times I hear there albums ..  Denny Dias/Elliot Randall on solo guitar, Chuck Rainey on bass, Bernard Purdie on drums. What a groove they lay down.  😼 imo.

Couldn't agree more.

Come to think of it, for me Steely Dan  is probably the only band that managed to make three (or maybe even four) albums in a row that haven't got a weak moment on it.

Katy Lied, The Royal Scam, Aja and Gaucho.

And the ones before that aren't too shabby either😁.

Two Against Nature has some beautiful Stingray  work on it too.

The live version is well worth a listen as well.

I discovered these guys later in life when someone played me the Two Against Nature DVD. Great grooves, great songs, great sounds, great harmonies. Katy Lied was my favourite.

i would propose Elvis costello hit the ball out of the park 5 times..

Get Happy

and

Trust

They dont have a single dud in my opinion
