diskwave Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 (edited) A change is always good so thght Id have a go at a load of those old American cop themes and Ive got to say the Kojak one is a stonker to play, taken a bit of figuring without a chart but Ive just about got it...big fun indeed. Anyway, Magnum, Streets of San Francisco, Bullit, Cagney & Lacey....really exciting stuff to play. Edited December 24, 2024 by diskwave 2 Quote

Nice one, I’m familiar with the theme to Kojak because I watched some of the episodes lately, there’s some really funky tunes in that show 1 Quote
skidder652003 Posted November 29, 2024 Posted November 29, 2024 (edited) Riviera Paradise by Steveie Ray Vaughn. The Bass part is dead easy but Im also playing keys (Hammond B3) with my feet. Using a midi footswitch, ipad mini and free programme called Dreamfoot as well as garageband. Also learning Since I've been loving You by Led Zep with organ parts supplied by EHX C9 pedal. Hopefully ready for next gig in a weeks time! Edited November 29, 2024 by skidder652003 Quote

Funnily enough, "I'd Rather Go Blind" did also enter the discussion, but TW won out in the end. 🤷♂️ 1 Quote

Some will say a heinous crime, for other it gives a comfortable resolution 1 Quote

Thats the version we do (again with me doing keys with my foot) 1 Quote

Judt found it sounds wonderfully naff if you slip in th major 7th now and again 😁 Edited November 30, 2024 by Stub Mandrel Quote
FretsOnFire Posted December 20, 2024 Posted December 20, 2024 Elton John - Step into Christmas More of a challenge than I'd expected but I'm improving all the time with it Quote

Could be Scott Edwards, Ronnie Baker.. pretty sure its not Jamerson, his last hit was Rock The Boat which I think preceeds this gem.. 1 Quote

Thanks very much for that info diskwave , if you like a jamerson Bassline have a look on his channel and on his playlists he’s got over 100 with tabs with lots of different artists 1 Quote
SteveXFR Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I'm having a go at The Decline by NOFX. A prog song by a punk band! The first riff is a killer. Slightly easier now I know Fat Mike always starts with an up pick 1 Quote
Jackroadkill Posted December 29, 2024 Posted December 29, 2024 I'm "learning" this; it's a blast from my past and it's ridiculously easy; I'm having fun with it nonetheless! Quote
Reggaebass Posted yesterday at 12:50 Posted yesterday at 12:50 I follow Bill and I like a nice groove , I’d never heard this song before , a bit tricky in places so I’m breaking it down bit by bit Quote

Some of the basses Olinto produce look fantastic. This guy also looks like he has a lot of top-notch basses looking at his other vids. 1 Quote
rwillett Posted yesterday at 13:46 Posted yesterday at 13:46 Mama's and Papa's - Dream a little dream. First band I've played with in 40 years and we only have one person who plays guitar so far, me and I'm not very good. The vocalist fancies singing the above, so I'm having to learn an open B7 Chord which would be OK, if I hadn't broken or dislocated every finger and thumb on my left hand multiple times from playing too much rugby. Oh well, it'll eventually come right, either that or surgery Rob 2 1 Quote
