dangerboy
Continuing the clearout of everything that isn't an Ovation Magnum... My Westone Thuder II, in 'Onyx' finish. 25 years old, and not looking its age at all. 32 1/4" scale. Maple body. Set neck. Beautifully subtle metallic finish. You can find out all about it here: http://www.westone.info/cats/83/p9.html Everything is original, as far as I can tell, apart from the switch tip. This bass has interesting tone possibilities - it's passive, but has a bass/treble control for each pickup, based on duel potentiometers. All the fun of an active without worrying about a battery! Comes with the original Westone hard case, which is in OK nick but not immaculate. Looking for 160 picked up or 180 posted. I'm in London.

Bassassin
That's a great price for a neck-through Thunder. Wish I could afford it! Jon.
King Tut
Don't think it's neck through - looks like a set neck. I've a Thunder One - a two coming - anyone gonna sell me a three?!

I think maybe there were several incarnations of the Thunder II. Can you shed any light Bassassin? Col
Bassassin
I'm just assuming it's neck-through on the basis that the natural finish IIs and IIIs were. I'm not exactly a Westone expert - I've only ever had a Thunder I bolt-neck g*it*r (which was sweet) and there may have been set-neck versions. It should be possible to tell with this one by whipping out a pup & looking in the resulting hole - the grain pattern & any neckthrough lamination should be visible. J. budget bassist
Hmm i think you're right there, it seems the one with the J pickups and solid finish were set neck and the ones with the P pickups and trans finish were neck thru, my bad! Even has the XLR.

Confusingly the Thunder 3 was previously called Thunder 2, when they introduced this model they 'upped' it rather than call this one the Thunder one and a half! I actually have the same model T2, also in Onyx - lovely bass.

Got a minor set up issue I need to sort - otherwise sounds very 'modern' - if 80's hi fi is still modern!!
