Ricky 4000 Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Righto, I've set Jools to record (in case I need to look back for forensic pedantry purpose later on). Nothing on there is going to top this though, from a few years back: May all your new years be the greatest, fellow bassers! 3 3 Quote

And to all Basschatters. I cannae think o any other forum where I've felt so instantly at home. We're not bothering wi Jools. Our Hogmanay has consisted o a meal and drinkies in oor local, to be followed by a trip onto the roof to watch the fireworks from the castle, assuming I stay sober enough tae open the attic hatch. Hic! 2 Quote
ianrendall Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 We have it on every year in our house and have done for the past 10 years. We call it the ‘Annual Rowland Rivron spotting contest’. Quote

And what was up with that snare sound? Yep, another year, another moan about the mix on Later. When will they learn? It was the same awful mix on Graham Norton too, Mel C’s vocals were lower than the synth backing. Edited December 31, 2019 by ezbass Quote

Surely the mix that’s heard in the broadcast would have been done over the last week or so, since it was recorded? Quote

Ricky 4000 Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 They were like old Alanis Morrisettes... we couldn't decide if they were taking the p1ss... Was the Nutty Professor any good? Couldn't hear her as we were talking here. 😬 1 Quote
Shambo Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 There's some fine musical chops on show that's for sure, but I find it so, so boring. The flat TV mix probably doesn't help. It's all seems so self-congratulatory... the same as it was the last time I watched it about twenty years ago. I'm making a mental note to go out next year. Happy new year everyone! Quote

drTStingray Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Happy New Year everyone. The mix on the orchestra seems pretty good on my television - Dave Swift sounds particularly good. Loved his bass parts on Ric Astley Never Gonna Give You Up. And you could actually hear them - great!! Quote
BrunoBass Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) Happy new year everyone. I’m watching Grease with my daughter. Much more preferable. Edited January 1, 2020 by BrunoBass Quote
