chris_b Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 (edited) Willie Weeks has be a favourite player of mine since, like so many people, I first heard him soloing with Donny Hathaway. I've just listened back to this track he did for the Pointer Sisters, in the 70's. I was blown away (again) by the bounce and liveliness of the bass lines. It just sounds like happy bass playing to me. Enjoy. Edited January 1, 2020 by chris_b Quote
Mykesbass Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 Had a look at that album after you posted the JJ track. The album also has Louis Johnson on. Not a bad bass line up! Quote
cetera Posted January 2, 2020 Posted January 2, 2020 Great bassist! Here he is, playing the basslines of the fantastic Tiran Porter, soon after Tiran left the Doobies.... Quote
pete.young Posted January 3, 2020 Posted January 3, 2020 Great shout out @chris_b I'm another long-time admirer of his playing. Love this groove. Quote
