andy67
Love this one: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-bass-guitar-made-in-Japan-Jazz-Precision/362856357170?_trkparms=aid%3D111001%26algo%3DREC.SEED%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20160908105057%26meid%3D51b100f29c4d4c10b3e35f2a08856732%26pid%3D100675%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D15%26sd%3D362856357170%26itm%3D362856357170%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2380057&_trksid=p2380057.c100675.m4236&_trkparms=pageci%3A24f0672a-2ff1-11ea-9f9d-74dbd180ae39|parentrq%3A772b741d16f0a4e922668956ff94a0ee|iid%3A1 I have emailed the seller to inform that the bass is most likely an Ibanez Blazer or Roadster. Response: Would update the add to take on board new info. Edited January 5, 2020 by andy67
songofthewind
Russian Abstract Expressionist, I’d say. But definitely not Fender.
Bassassin
It's a brutalized 1982 Ibanez Blazer/Roadster/Roadstar II. Both tragic and hilarious at the same time. The hilarity being the price.
DoubleOhStephan
Three. Hundred. Pounds. I particularly like that the "Volume and tone contols have been sealed off" but fear not, it "Plays and sounds great"... 😂
andy67
I see the item is still there. Cannot believe that dude still trying to sell that poor, poor Ibanez as a Fender.
andy67
Just now, hiram.k.hackenbacker said: I would be very surprised if eBay does anything about it. All they care about is their £££’s. Definitely! Its such a waste of an amazing vintage Jap bass.
andy67
Glad he has changed it. I so want to rescue it but wouldn't pay any more than £50.
andy67
Not yet as still mulling over it. Lot of work required to bring that back from the grave plus not sure I could live with that headstock.

Might just about be worth £50 for the tuners, pickup and bridge - those heart-shaped Hercules jobs are like gold-dust. All that paint would come off the body with plenty of acetone and elbow-grease & I'd be surprised if the original finish wasn't still there underneath. Not sure about the neck though, the paint & varnish on what I assume is a rosewood board might be problematic. And that headstock is grotesque - no idea what you'd do with that. FinnDave
Put me right off my dinner - please post a warning in future!!
andy67
The pups, bridge and tuners definitely worth an outlay. It puts me right off a few other things too ;)
Doctor J
I like the paintwork but, after that, like gets on the train and leaves this monstrosity behind.
Dan Dare
Now reduced to £225. Someone is going to get a bargain. Paintwork by Mondrian 😁 Edited January 19, 2020 by Dan Dare
