Easy ways to sound like a double bass?

Got to agree with this man - Ashbury's have the sound you're after without any of the messing about. Also you can pick one up for less than £200 on eBay ( :) [b]I can't believe that I'm recommending eBay!!! [/b]:) ) with a spare set of strings, bag, etc. However they do take a bit of getting used to..[size=1]tiny little frets[/size]...but it may be worth the effort if this is the sound you're after. Maybe a BCer will lend you one or allow you to try theirs...

Use your thumb and mute the strings with your palm.

I'm actually trying to find a set of mutes to fit to the Jazz, but all I can find is a set of 4 from Allparts for £30 but there's no picture and I'm not sure if they're the ones I'm thinking of!
Anyone know where I can get a set?
