I played a couple of these recently in local shops... Liked them - Plays like a musicman, only heavier feel to it. Large range of sounds available from the preamp. Liked the powerful humbuckers as well.

Indeed a bargain it is.
I also own one of these, mines in sunburst.

As OTPJ says a large range of sounds can be coaxed out of these
basses, great preamp & very powerful pickups.

You're right about the EQ and pickups - and the Musicman feel. Feels like it's like a refined Stingray - easier playing position thanks to the double humbuckers close together. The only thing I don't like about the G&Ls is the ugly headstock but the 5ers are more smoothed out. I think I might be a G&L convert. Will have to change my Basschat nickname. ;-)

Played this bass at the SE Bash yesterday and it's absolutely fantastic! Makes it even more of a bargain...

what makes it even more amazing is that if what i'm thinking is true then it could have sold for a lot more.

on these basses were £1395.00

Nice bass! You're going to be a happy man with that I reckon. You'll find it's like a better Stingray. The sound is great.
