Doctor J Posted January 8, 2020 Posted January 8, 2020 (edited) Anyone digging Vulfpeck should give Mr. Wong's solo material a listen. This is incredibly funky in an early-Prince kind of way. Petar Janjic and Kevin MacIntire are one hell of a rhythm section and Cory's a very funny fella as well as nailing that fourth-position funk guitar. He's touring in a few weeks and I have nabbed a ticket for the Cork show. Expectations are high after seeing this. Edited January 8, 2020 by Doctor J 6 Quote
Davo-London Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Love Vulfpeck. So funky and they have so much fun. Davo Quote
songofthewind Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 Vulfpeck are at the top of their game, to my mind. I love their infectious enthusiasm and weapons grade funk. And interesting clothing choices. 2 Quote
chris_b Posted January 9, 2020 Posted January 9, 2020 This still makes me smile. . . . from ear to ear. 2 Quote

musicbassman Posted January 11, 2020 Posted January 11, 2020 For those who haven't watched the Live in MPLS video (embedded above) all the way through, spare yourself 5 minutes to watch the section starting around 1:20, where he teaches the audience to count in 25/8 time. No kidding, he really does ! 😮 👍 1 Quote
Doctor J Posted January 11, 2020 Author Posted January 11, 2020 (edited) Bonus: The drumming either side of that bit is insanely good 🙂 Edit -> Actually, here's a link straight into it, just watch the faces of the other guys in the band 😉 Edited January 11, 2020 by Doctor J 1 Quote

Doctor J Posted May 5, 2020 Author Posted May 5, 2020 If you like what Wong does, you’ll enjoy this. If you don’t like what Wong does, you might still enjoy this. Give it a go. Wonderful stuff. Seth Tackaberry doing a fine job on bass. 1 Quote

Raslee Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 February this year at the SWX (think that’s what the venue was called). Very funky! 1 Quote
Cuzzie Posted May 5, 2020 Posted May 5, 2020 That’s correct - I can’t remember why I missed it but I regret it - it’s a great venue SWX actually 1 Quote

I’ve always had good experiences in Bristol - Snarky Puppy at the Bristol O2 a few months earlier sounded great too. 1 Quote
