velvetkevorkian Posted January 27, 2009 Posted January 27, 2009 Hey all, rediscovered this recently- I mentioned it briefly in the classical music thread in off topic but its a great resource. IMSLP.org Any composer who has editions now in the public domain can be included, so if you fancy transcribing some Bach, listening to Beethoven's 9th with the score or doing a multitracked bass version of the Symphonie Fantastique this might come in handy. They're all PDF files I think and totally legal. Read on! Quote

steve Posted February 9, 2009 Posted February 9, 2009 that's a great link cheers - so what kind of instruments are we looking at in the (extended) bass range besides trombone and cello? Quote
velvetkevorkian Posted February 9, 2009 Author Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Tuba, bassoon, left hand parts for piano/harpsichord/organ, organ pedals. The bass can get pretty far into the treble range as well if you're up for a bit of transposing. edit- low voices from choral parts too. I'm sure I'll think of more later.
