Reggaebass Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 I was going through the backing bands on Roots Archives looking at the Roots Radics , check out how many they backed, it’s amazing, also came across this 2 Quote

I figured other than Pama International, Upper Cut Band, Friendly Fire Band I'm not aware of other active UK ones - and none on the South coast. I suppose it is because there isn't the market for it but I like the idea of a Roots Radics style band that supports different vocalists. It probably is ambitious for the limited Portsmouth/Chichester/Brighton reggae scene though! 1 Quote

Reggaebass Posted Friday at 19:07 Author Posted Friday at 19:07 I’ve been going through quite a bit of Marlon Asher lately, can’t say I like it all but he’s got some really good tracks, here’s a few I saved . 1 Quote
Tandro Posted Friday at 19:19 Posted Friday at 19:19 Ah @Reggaebass, some Marlon Asher from my neck of the woods 😜 and fitting for Dancehall Friday! This song is what launched him onto the scene back in the day, the whole country was vibin to this in fetes, radio, everywhere. Good memories... 1 2 Quote

Sunshine is quite important. Thanks to this thread this one is new to me for the essentials reggae part: Edited Sunday at 17:07 by SumOne 2 Quote

Can linger a bit though (after taste). Think my favourite rum (particularly neat) is Diplomatico Might pour a little and join the party. Marcus Garvey - Burning Spear in the background. Tandro Posted Sunday at 21:58 Posted Sunday at 21:58 Ok, granted I am no connoisseur and I should really try some different ones, I just gravitate to 'Angostura 1919' if its rum. Thats done it for me for decades (which reminds me I need to stock a bottle at home again). But to be honest, my poison of choice is Scotch and Coconut water any day. Most people who have not grown up on that seem not to like it and give me funny looks, but hands down I will take that any time (caveat though...sorry, the coconut water we get in the UK that comes from Thailand and Asia etc just does not taste the same as coconuts from the Caribbean). 2 Quote

Thanks for that, I did come across them once but I can’t remember when, and I couldn’t find anything about them really, this might have been the track I heard Quote
