Apparently you can hear Alton Ellis in the background, even with headphones it’s really faint, I don’t know the song but it’s pretty old

Fairly sure I haven’t posted this great track from Patrick Andy, i remember it from around 1983, but not sure of the exact release date, I think you’re gonna like this

I wonder if its from about 1975,  lourenco marques was in Mozambique and they got independence around that time, there was a lot of violence & trouble regrettably, I kind of vaguely remember they were reporting it a lot on the news at the time. They changed the name from L.M. to Maputo in the end

Cheers for that, I didn’t really investigate the song, the riddim is really familiar but I can’t put my finger on it

It just occurred to me because of the name and thought it must be connected, the civil war went on for many years right thru the 80s I believe, a tragic situation that happened similarly in other African nations too.

All I can find is it’s from this album by coxsone Dodd, released in 1980 on studio 1,

Good find ! Theme being capitals of African countries that won independence, must check out the whole thing 👍
