I bought this bass some time ago without knowing that the original preamp had been replaced with a cheap one. The (unknown) preamp works fine as do the original Yamaha pickups but the input socket now needs replacing as well. It was my intention to fit a Bartolini preamp but as mentioned I never got around to doing this and every time I had the funds to do this, I bought something else. So anybody with a bit of knowhow, a soldering iron and the funds to install a quality preamp is going to have a cracking bass at the end of the day. Anyhow its a Japanese TRB in great condition and light weight too. I know absolutely nothing about these basses and no idea how old it is.
