Faithless
So, it's about sound issues.. Not that long ago my sound coloured with some unwanted drive, actually it's like - when battery drains out (my both Ibbies are active), it starts driving. That drive is noticeable only on E and B strings (B especially). Remind you once more, problem exists in both instruments. I thought it was my little practice amp's fault, but, then again, when I've plugged my basses into Line6 POD XT Live (through headphones), problem remained the same! I've brought my amp to the shop (to try it with different basses) - you couldn't tell there was sorta drive! The problem isn't with the batteries - both Ibbies are equipped with Duracell's, and I've re-equipped 'em just a few months ago. It's also doesn't have to do anything with cables. To add more, I'm using same basses with same cables and FX units in studio, and there's no problem with drive (using Ashdown rig in studio..).. Well, not that long ago I've re- equipped my basses with heavier strings 50-135, but I don't think, that's the problem - drive appeared before re-stringing basses (if my mind's OK..) I just don't have ideas, where that drive is coming from..
Stylon Pilson
Dodgy batch of batteries? Try changing them again, just in case. S.P.
budget bassist
Turn the master volume on your bass down.
GreeneKing
Not a Roland Cube 30 by any chance?
YouMa
Have a fiddle with the small variable resistor on the pre amp,it may need turning down slightly,it sounds like either that or a capacitor on its way out.
Faithless
Just changed battery with new Duracell. Farting didn't dissappear. I just don't know what to do now. It just p1sses me off. Anyway, why would I need to turn my vol from bass, if I have never had any problems with it? I'll try different cables, maybe, but I simply know, problem's not there.. odub
I can make my ASAT do this on the low notes, normally when I've raised the pickup height, the heavier strings sound to be overpowering and causing distortion. reducing the master volume take it back below hat clipping
Faithless
That's what I was thinking about.. Anyway, I'll give this job to do for my gu1tard, he's a hell of technician.. Thanks for responses, guys, I'll give a shout about how it's going! Faith
xilddx
Does this happen everywhere you play? Or just at home? EDIT Just noticed you don't have the problem in your studio. Could it be your home electrics? Edited February 2, 2009 by silddx
