songofthewind
Doesn’t look like a fake to my untutored eye. However, the uniformity of appearance of the tarnished parts causes me to think they have been treated in some way, like exposure to corrosive vapour or whatever they do to relic metal. Max Normal
The 6-bolt neck with the "M" logo on the neckplate dates this from 1990-1998, so not an 80's bass and certainly not a "TRANSITIONAL" bass as in the title. Not a £1,500.00 bass IMO. Edited January 13, 2020 by Max Normal
tom1946
Thanks guys, I wondered why it's corroded so much, seems expensive for what it is though.

The bridge on that is sometimes referred to as a 'trans' bridge, so maybe that's where the confusion comes from - but yeah it'd point to early 90's http://www.musicmanbass.global/bridges-pre-eb-eb/
pineweasel
Bridge, oil & wax neck and metal battery cover place it between 1993 - 1996. Looks good to me but I agree £1500 is a bit much. You can find 3EQ Stingrays for a lot less, and there's no particular benefit to getting an older one.

All his basses seem to be very overpriced. The trans gold one he's selling for example 😯

TheGreek
@bassface2k10 has a genuine transitional MM bass - he pointed out several discrepancies between his and this. We're watching this (even though it is different) to give a guide price should he sell his.
