Mike Bungo Posted January 14, 2020 Posted January 14, 2020 I’d put the feelers out in the Uk but had no real joy then found this beauty out in the US. The guy I bought it off had bought it off the son of the chap who had owned it from new in 1980 and had just flipped it. It was manufactured in late 1976 and must have sat around for several years. Anyway I’m the new lucky owner and this bass is a gem. 100% original and it still has the bridge cover plastic buffers on which is really rare to find.... I’m buzzing 10 Quote

hooky_lowdown Posted January 15, 2020 Posted January 15, 2020 That's a beast. Bet it'll sound huge! Out of interest, any idea of weight (I know it's not going to be light)? 😁 Quote

KevL Posted January 16, 2020 Posted January 16, 2020 Congratulations, you're lucky to find something like that in such good condition, almost 40 years to the day it was first sold - pretty much NOS. Was it easy getting it shipped over? I'm assuming the buffers are the plastic spacers on which the bridge is sitting? Are these just to raise the height of the bridge but are usually removed, hence you saying they are rare? Quote

The spacers are all original and because the bridge covers are usually taken off then they will have gone missing over the years. She is totally stock 👌😊👍 Quote
Grahambythesea Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I bet you had to pay more than the $599 on the original docket! Quote
scrumpymike Posted April 12, 2020 Posted April 12, 2020 Reminds me of my delight at finding an equally nice LP Triumph bass in the mid-'90s (complete with bridge cover and case). Gigged it for a few years then moved it on. That was heavier than an extremely heavy thing. Quote
