Ampeg CL and VR

So...Ive been offered good deals on both heads.

Which head gives more dirt at lower volumes?

Its going to be for punk/hardcore....and rock....so it needs to be tubey and full

Anyway experienced the new Vietnam made heads?

Any difference, or is it all just politics?!

I'm dying to get my own USA CL or VR or if I'm extremely lucky an original. I've not tried a 'nam-built one myself, but most of what I've read on them has put me off buying anything new from Ampeg when I do eventually get mine. I'll be saving the extra for a second-hand original or at least a USA-made one.
