mr pablo
Hey folks, I'm doing a wee bit of rig re-juggling as I have just been offered a marshall vba400 for peanuts and its too good an offer to refuse so last in first out means my SWR grand prix pre amp is for sale. I just bought this the other month from our own Alexclaber who had it for a bit. Its in perfect working condition and pretty much perfect cosmetic condition with only a couple of small scratches on the top (it has been in a rack as long as alex had it and never been out my house since i got it) and I have the manual too, the valve has been changed to a nos jan 12at7wc but i'll include the original and a mullard 12ax7 as well. Here's Alex's sales pitch http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=1848 I'm looking for NEW PRICE of £225 posted in the u.k (cheque or paypal is fine) although i'll knock of some cash if anyone wants to collect it. I can post some pics later when my camera recharges http://www.swrsound.com/support/vintage.php (Info on the pre) http://www.swrsound.com/support/manuals/html/gprixom.php (online manual) cheers Robbie Edited August 21, 2007 by mr pablo

alexclaber
Well this took me by surprise! Everyone, this is a very nice preamp - someone buy it! I bought it ex-demo from The Bass Centre in 1999 and it's lived in my rack since then. By the way I'm pretty sure both those valves are NOS 5751 not 12AX7 or 12AT7. Good valves though, specially selected by Jack Read, designer of the legendary (and very rare) Read Custom preamp. The original valve is a generic 12AX7. Alex P.S. The VBA400 should rock!
