billrasic
Hi i want to change the pickups in my olp mm22 4 string bass and wonders what good options there were? Cheers!
Sibob
Most of the main pickup manufacturers do MM style pickups. From what I've heard, Seymour Duncan are pretty close to a stingray sound. I've had personal experience with Bartolini as I've got them in my OLP, they sound great, smoother than a standard MM pickup although I'd only use those if the bass was active, they're severely under-powered when run passive. Lots of people on the board swear by Wizard pickups also, although I haven't heard anything about their MM pickups specifically, mostly their P & J setups Good luck Si Edited January 30, 2009 by Sibob
budget bassist
I use seymour duncan pickups in one of my musicman basses and they sound aweome. I can't stand barts, they sound too polite, you might as well buy a jazz bass.
yorick
+1 for the Seymours. Have a gander at Delano pick-ups as well. They do a mean MM style one.
