FraserS
Hiya folks. Just wondering if I could get some advice - I recently purchased an Orange Ob1-500 head, which comes as a 2U rack-mountable unit and I'm looking to get a flight case for it. Before I do, I wanted to ask if it's advisable to go for a 3U case so there's a bit of room for ventilation? Plenty of folk have settled for a 2U case going by what I've seen on Google images, but I'm just concerned the amp may overheat if it's vents don't have much room to 'breathe'. That said, it's a solid state unit with no valves so there's every chance I'm just being overly cautious. Any insight/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks! mr4stringz
There’ll be little if any price difference, so I’d say go for a 3u if ventilation is something you’re concerned about. Then get a vented plate to fit the ‘extra’ rack space. That’s the route I’ve gone down at least...
FraserS
Thanks man, and that's a sweet Hillbish you've got there. King Buzzo would be proud!

No sweat and thanks right back! It doesn’t do clean, that’s for sure. Rages like hell though. Great bit of kit!
