Just another of life's dreamers/chancers. When that type of bass - which is rather nice and probably worth £1500 - turns up in that context I tend to be a little suspicious.........

Those are great playing and sounding Fenders. Build quality is better than an average late 70s Fender ime. They tend to be equally heavy (5kg+) though.

Value should be around £1500 indeed.

Id love to own one again at some point, preferably a lighter one if they exist.

Nice. I’ve always wanted a Jazz Bass The Precision 1978

Well now's your chance Ped.

All joking aside, wonder if the seller has inadvertently added a zero?

More likely an ignoramus and certainly not a player. He obviously thinks Fenders are all called Jazz Basses.  There was another idiot on eBay suffering from a similar delusion a while back. He was attempting to sell what he described as a "Jazz Precision", which was a bitsa with a butchered headstock - 3 tuners on one side and one on the other.
