The neck isn't mentioned on the masking tape scribble.  It says the serial no, date of manufacture, American walnut (falings?) mahogany core, and a fish signature.  The fingerboard is definitely rosewood though.

This is now fixed : it's rosewood, which is the official fingerboard wood for fretted Wal's. That and the double crossed checking made by Martin at the Bass Gallery confirm it was originally fretted.

So, back to original condition and even better resell price (just in case).
