Found at last! - a drummer I worked with back in the '70's used to rave about "this japanese drummer with the funk", and had this album.

I couldn't recall the name, and now here it is.

Naff synth tones. Wahwah guitar. All in all, perfectly groovy!    😎

Glad to have been of assistance! I’m loving it - some proper cheese there (I could do without ‘Hey Jude’ sang in Japanese) but there are a couple of tracks which really groove.

There is such a fine line between in the groove and forced. Like the line from "Spinal Tap", "There is such a fine line between 'stupid' and 'clever'." And I swear to G** it can't be taught. So many people trying to participate n the music bizniz can't funk for their Mama's sake. And yet the Pocket People die by the wayside. Back to/ sidetrain of "Normal People" and BassChat(ers). The bass players that GET IT. AND GET PAID.  and the rest should go home and make 1000 perfect omelets. (That's how I paid the rent)..
