Guitar Strap Shoulder Pad - Any Recommendations?

Hi all,

I have purchased another guitar strap (I know, it's an obsession :(), which is beautiful and expensive, but the reviews suggest that it's not the most comfortable on the shoulder.

It hasn't arrived yet (from US of A), I'll try it when it arrives, but I'm anticipating it being uncomfortable (I bought it because it's beautiful - style over substance & all that).

Do any BCers have any recommendations for padded shoulder thingies that might make it more tolerable?

Thanks in advance!

:)

I’ll be honest, that didn’t go as well as I’d hoped...

I appreciate the suggestion, even if I won't necessarily be taking you up on it!

:D

Anyway, it's the most sensible suggestion that I've had

smiley

It's also the most daft...

:D

Could you get a Comfort Strapp and glue the new one to it?

or just get a long strip of neoprene?

@Jakester 's suggestion is still the most sensible suggestion. :D

It's a pretty strap - I don't want to turn it into a 'Frankenstein's Monster'! :P

I bought a gel padded thingy a while ago... it fitted over an existing strap. TBH it was crap... it kept slipping and it looked like a dog anyway.

Like all things fashionable, you may have to choose between cutting a dash or being comfortable. If you don't mind looking like a pillock, I use a Kliq Aircell strap (from Amazon). Make sure you spell it right or they may send you a Kliq A***hole strap.

Thanks @Trueno  smiley

I'm not sure the A***hole strap is the one.

'Cutting a dash' it is then! :D

How wide is the strap you've ordered?

2" (50mm) - quite narrow, but it's what I'm used to, and the only width this particular strap comes in.

I've never had a problem with straps being uncomfortable before, it's just that some of the reviews complained about discomfort.

Hopefully. I won't need to add a padded doo-dah after all! :)

Back in the old days I used to use string 😝

Well, that's nowt! :P

You don't know you were born.

I could only dream of using string...

I used to use barbed wire, and were grateful...

...played a 25 hour straight gig - collar bone exposed & pouring blood by the end, thanked & paid the promoter for the privilege!

:D
