If it was going to have a control plate like that, it should have had a scratch plate. If they weren't going to put one on they should have left the top plain. IMHO. I can't imagine him wanting to hack a hole in that beautiful top & then plonking a chromed control plate on top of it! Have to assume it was specced by Paul Turner?
