skelf Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 (edited) Leading from some discussion on a build thread. I am happy to organise a Bash in Moffat. I have what I think should be a good venue in the form of the local theatre. This has a stage with amphitheatre type seating and an adjoining room again with seating. It is also a bit away from any housing and has parking on the site. Possibly be able to sort out tea and coffee on the day as well. So basically could I find out if anyone is up for this and when would be the best time to hold it. Open to suggestions for things of interest. I will be getting in touch with a few builders to see if they would be interested but this will depend on the numbers involved. Cheers Alan Edited February 10, 2009 by skelf Quote
~tl Posted February 4, 2009 Posted February 4, 2009 How easy is it to get to Moffat via public transport? While I'm sure there will be a fair few people willing to give lifts, it would be nice to have a venue that us non-car folk could get to without too much trouble... Quote
skelf Posted February 4, 2009 Author Posted February 4, 2009 There are certainly busses to Glasgow and Edinburgh not sure of the times but I would think it is easy enough to find out. Nearest train station is Lockerbie 15 miles south of Moffat. Alan Quote
stonecoldbass Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'm up for this, last 2 weeks in April look good to me... Im sure some kinda car pooling could be organised from up here to Moffat once we firm up dates and numbers etc;. c Quote
GreeneKing Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'm up for it and can offer a lift to South Cumbrian folk. Peter Quote
skelf Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 End of April sounds about right. Just need to get some people interested and it will be worth doing. alan Quote
~tl Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'd certainly be up for it – the end of April sounds fine. Quote
david_l_perry Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Certainly up for this Alan...could it be a Sunday..?? That way it would not interfere with people gigging on the Sat night...just a thought. Dave Quote
niceguyhomer Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'd definitely come - especially now being a partial member of the ACG club. Plenty of room in my car for those of a Red Rose persuasion Quote
skelf Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Sunday would be fine as well. So possibly the 26/4/09 or the 3/05/09 how does that sound to those interested. I will check the dates with the venue. Alan Quote
skelf Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Both of those dates are available. The chair of the group that runs the venue will have a word with the rest of them to make sure there is no problem with the let so I will have their answer early next week. She does not think there will be a problem. Alan Quote
eude Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'm in Alan, should be able to make either date too. I'm happy to give lifts from Edinburgh, but I'll be bringing gear and my car ain't huge... Also, would there be any merit in me bringing along a wee PA?
I'm up for it and can offer a lift to South Cumbrian folk. Peter
Excellent, can't wait to see your Harlot in the flesh! - Wow that sounds inappropriate! Cheers, Eude Quote
skelf Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Right. The may date is on the bank holiday so it might be an idea to avoid that. So the 19/4/09 and the 26/04/09 might be better. Quote
d-basser Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'm in, will need a lift but I will make it. Quote
Rayman Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'll be coming up from Manchester, so I'm happy to pick a couple of people up on the way, within reason. Alan, must be my turn to pick you up mate? Quote
skelf Posted February 5, 2009 Author Posted February 5, 2009 Going to pick one of the above dates and try to go with it. Thinking of going for the 19th as the preferred date. Any thoughts Alan Quote
xgsjx Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 Unfortunately I'm away on holiday for the last two weeks in April but I'll be up for the next one (hopefully many more to follow). Hope it all goes well & the weather's good for y'all, should be fun. G Quote
MythSte Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 I'd love to go, I'd be happy to pay someone if i can grab a lift too! Quote
d-basser Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 argh I cant do the 19th, the other two other dates, 26th or 5th was it?, I can do those. Quote
GreeneKing Posted February 5, 2009 Posted February 5, 2009 (edited) The thing to do is pick a date and hope not too many can't make it as it's impossible to please all. 19th is good for me Peter Edited February 5, 2009 by GreeneKing Quote
