Doctor J
Horrible. Many Gibson owners can sympathise, to an extent.
Beedster
‘He will never fit four pedals again because it was such a pain in the a**e’ Brilliant She seems philosophical, at least it’s a contemporary instrument that could be made again, I’m quite surprised how low cost a top GP is to be honest
chris_b
She should have kept such an expensive piano at home. See what happens when you take your best gear to gigs!!! 3
Ricky 4000
Meh, first world problems... it's all insured up the a$$, she'll get another expensive piano and it'll all be fine. 😗 1

Woodinblack
See, I don't see that as any different to a kid knocking the headstock of an old gibson. I mean, the value is different, but not the value to them, they both love it the same, but in her case the person who made it is still alive so it is just a question of buying another one. And the kid probably wouldn't have insurance. I am sure she can persuade him to fit a couple of other pedals, shes only got two feet anyway 1
Jean-Luc Pickguard
Knocking the headstock off a gibson isn't the end of the world - chap I know had his invisibly repaired for £65, and its almost expected for an old one to have a repair in its history. If fitting four pedals is such a pain in the ar$e for the manufacturer, he should probably try fitting them using his hands instead.

Yes, she can play other piano's, but it won't be the same as the one she lost. I do feel for her. There's a couple of basses I have, one Jazz in particular, that just doesn't feel like any other I've played. I hope they take the muppets that broke it to the cleaners. I know it's heavy, but so do they. I bet she's not quite as happy with them now as the article states. I know what you're saying, and I feel sympathy for her too, but this bit of the article annoys me: Quote Terence Lewis, co-owner of London’s Jaques Samuel Pianos, who has supplied other Faziolis to Hewitt and spoke to her about the accident said the destruction of the piano was “like losing a limb”. No, it really wasn't. 😬 Edited February 11, 2020 by Ricky 4000

taunton-hobbit
Hyperbole, from a Greek word meaning "excess," is a figure of speech that uses extreme exaggeration to make a point . 'nuff said ............ 😎

paul_5
Surely if she wants more pedals then she should move to the organ...?

Raymondo
I'm a little confused here ..are you all having a go at a musician that has suffered the loss of her ,much loved, nay treasured, unique instrument? Just because it was likened to the loss of a limb? She didn't even sat that ! Do you really think that that is what she thinks? It's a figure of speech , used by many. She has had the piano for decades, takes it every where and it is the only one of it's make that has four pedals apparently. Instead of getting upset about a figure of speech can we not all see the tragic loss of a treasured instrument here? It was very pedally, the most pedaled one apparently. Great pedals. 3 minutes ago, Raymondo said: Instead of getting upset about a figure of speech can we not all see the tragic loss of a treasured instrument here? Raymondo
Ok ^^^^^ maybe the humour passed me by this time ...I have been in the pub all day 😉 I just thought that it was a really sad story...and I felt really bad for the poor "movers" imagine how bad they must feel? ..It was a piece of history. Some guy has to go back into work and explain to his boss that he broke a rare 150k piano. Wouldn't like to be having that conversation.
